Hello Garrett & family!! We think of you and your family often . . . not only because we are praying for you daily, but also because we see the word 'Deglau' on so many of our family portraits. Although we are many miles away from PA, we keep updated on your progress by checking the website often. We are encouraged by the reports we read as to how you are progressing in your recovery. This summer while vacationing in Seattle, our family climbed Mt. St. Helens and it was a long, difficult climb (at least for the Batchelder parents)!! There were times when we doubted whether we could make it to the summit as our legs were weary and we struggled for air. Although gazing at the summit from time to time helped to rejuvenate and inspire me/us to continue on, most of the time we had to take it one step at a time - oftentimes with a rest in between. The last third of the climb (about 2,000 feet) was the most difficult in that we were climbing up a huge ash hill where for every two steps we took, we slid down one . . . very much like trying to climb a steep sand dune. I imagine that your uphill climb is not unlike this in many ways and that your progress might be slow at times, but if you take it one step at a time, over the course of time, progress is achieved. Your family must be so proud of the recovery and progress that you have already made and are there to help you continue to move ahead. Keep up the good work and may you be strengthened and comforted in knowing that many people from all over the country are upholding you in prayer before our loving God. Your friends in Texas . . . Nancy B. and family :)
Garrett, Keep up the good progress that you have been making. My family and I are praying for you and your family everyday. God is on your side! Take care, The Heckel Family
Dear Larry, Dottie, and Garrett: Saw Dr. Parker at a meeting this week and was able to give him a big hug. Hope he'll pass it on to all of you. Continued prayers, Paula Maloney
