Dear Garrett, Larry, Dottie & Jordan: We, along with hundred of others, keep up to date with Garrett's daily progress on this wonderful web site. It is heartwarming that so many people, from all over, continue to follow your family's journey as the days and weeks have passed. Garrett, your hard work to achieve recovery has been an inspiration to many with lesser obstacles to tackle. Know that we continue to keep you in our prayers & thoughts daily. We look forward to reading your daily successes & the day you arrive at home. God Bless. Bob & Dottie Staffen
Garrett, Sorry its been a long while since I have sent you a message. I think about you all the time and am trying to make plans to come visit you again. Every time I read on here all your progress I get this huge smile on my face bc I knew you could do it. Hey I've seen it all happen be4 and I thought it was a miracle that mom made it through the long road but its really God showing his amazing love. It really proves that "Our God is an AWESOME God!!" I think about that song and can her your beautiful voice singing it. Bc I sure cant sing it. Thinking about you and your family gets me through what I call a bad day even though it really doesn't even measure up to a bad day for you. And lately the littlest things that normally are taken for granted and bc I could remember back when mom couldn't do anything and now someone as amazing as you go through I don't think I would be able to deal with it. You are one heck of a player and will play till there is a win! You take care and I cant wait to read more about your progress. Larry, Dottie, and Jordy~ At Band Day I was so happy to see you and talk to each one of you. And Dottie no tears only happy ones bc he has made so much progress because you have been there by his side. Take care and God Bless, Love Liz Balliett
Garrett keep improving! I love to read the news and the letters from your mom on the website letting me know how you are doing. I miss you so much and think about you all the time. You know that book that I mentioned in one of the previous letters I wrote to you with the lessons for every day, well in the one I read today, it said "Dear one, you've been called for this purpose. If you can only see your suffering as having a purpose, it's much easier to take. You're not a doormat to be trampled; you're a platform to be used to give everyone around you an up-close glimpse of God at work." I thought that that described you very well (being a platform). He has brought you so far and we are able to see that everyday. Keep working hard and in time you'll be back to the old Garrett that we all miss so much. Latrobe was always a supportive community and now I see so many cheering you on, keeping you and your family strong. Not only in Latrobe, but everywhere else there are people rooting for your full recovery! I still can't get over hearing your voice either, it sounded so good! I know you can't wait until you are able to go back home and hang out with all your friends, you always knew how to have a good time and make anything fun! I miss all of the times that we shared. "Memories are the way of holding on to someone when the arms cannot." I'll always treasure the times we had and hopefully there will be many more to come! Miss and Love you all! Love always Liz H.
Garrett I am so proud of you. I was looking at my moms pictures (you know she took a lot) And I found one of both of us and it lets me know that you are going to get through this. I hope to see you soon. If I get time some weekend I will try to come and see you Katie T
