Hey Garrett I miss you. While I was at my Normal West football game tonight, I thought of you the whole time. I wished that you could be out there doing what you loved, kicking that football, at the same moment I was watching someone else do it. Every time I saw a missed field goal I said to myself, man if only Garrett was doing that he'd never miss it! I know it sounds corny, but I seriously thought that every time! Keep up the good work and keep fighting with all your might. I love ya and hope I can see your progress for myself soon! I miss that little smile of yours and how you always made everything seem so right. Your always in my thoughts and prayers. Jordan- Have you set off any more alarms without me?!? I miss ya kiddo, stay strong! Mrs. and Mr. Parker- OMG I love talking to you guys, you always put a smile on my face because you're so strong and positive, keep staying that way! The road to Garrett's recovery is getting shorter and shorter every day now! Miss and love you all. Love always Liz H.

Garrett~ Hey buddy! Glad to hear you are doing better! I'm coming up to see you this weekend and I'm so excited cause this will be my first time seeing you since you accident. You have been so strong through this and I love reading about your progress! See you soon! :) Love, Jamie Brighenti

Its so good to hear the wonderful news about you Garrett. My mom and I will be up soon to see you again. Stay strong buddy!! We all miss you and love you!! Macey Taylor

Mashed potatoes you are so lucky... I know that feeding tube food tastes like baby food formula.. So soft food is definitely for pleasure at first... You'll go from puréed to step up to regular. Step up is like ground sausage or ground hamburger. Each time they will do a swallowing test to see if you swallow without choking. They take like an x-ray and make you swallow all sorts of foods and textures. They other thing is they send you to a breakfast group which is a small group of people who each have a nurse who monitors your swallowing in person, bite size, how well you chew before you swallow and eventually your cutting up food. So you have a lot ahead of you... Stay away from the cake and the salad, liquid that is.. Nasty... The salad us very cucumber like and the cake tastes like cake uncooked... Sherbet is good though... They other thing they do is count your calorie intake before they remove you from the tube... So clean your tray... I know some is nasty and it does help to ask for an extra milk or fill up on the juice, makes calories and they'll be looking for that... I'll have to share some of the others on the phone though Dottie give me a call sometime... Love Carlene

Garrett- Hey bud... It's nice to hear you are doing SO well!!!.. I don't know if I'm going to be able to come down this weekend.. maybe with the Prides'.. Oh yeah did Katie tell you that she made Homecoming Court?... yeah she did... and we are going to see who's our queen tonight.. I'm excited!!... I know she wishes that you could be there to see her.. and it even hurts me to see that in her... but it's alright... she will probably come down Sunday..  and if she does... I most likely will... haha... .I have thought about you a lot... especially cuz it's football season and I know how much you like football..  and every Friday I feel bad because you do not get to enjoy being out on the field kicking... but you are in those people who do kick for you... I'm sure you taught them things.. like you taught Dave... You were always showing us different things about kicking and wrestling... even though I never won I would still try to beat you.. haha... It was kinda funny.. last Saturday.. Cindi and I were sitting at the bottom of your bed... and we took off your shoes because your mom told us that you don't like them on.. and once we took them off.. you were putting your feet EVERYWHERE trying to get them warm.. it was funny... I could tell then that you were gonna make it out fine.. and the throwing the football trick is awesome... Garrett you impress me everyday with your strength and courage... Keep on fighting Garrett... and remember that God is with you.. and you will make it out fine... I miss you SO much and hope to see you Sunday... I love ya tons!! Love- Ann Graham
